My name is Mikael Madsen and I’m the founder of Tripioso. I live in Copenhagen with my girlfriend and two sons and I love to travel the world.

I’m a guy who make a lot of preparations before I go travelling. To find the most popular restaurant. Where I should stay and what I should see. For my research I browse the internet for days. Reading and sorting through stacks of websites and blogs. I go to the library and borrow travel books. I read travel articles in newspapers and magazines. I go through hundreds of reviews of restaurants and hotels and watch thousands of images by fellow travellers. Simply because I would like to get the most out of my trip.

I hate the feeling of being just a cash cow in a crowd of tourists. For example eating in tourist restaurants who don’t give a s… about food quality because there is always another stupid tourist to milk.

Instead I try to visit the places the locals like and prefer. I know it is not always possible to avoid the crowds. Tourists will naturally flock to the most beautiful places. But that will not hold me back from seeking an authentic experience.

I often got told that “You should be a tourist guide” when I travel with others and Tripioso is my way of helping you to the best possible trip.
